Always and Forever Vulnerable.

There’s a tradition in 17th and 18th century Dutch art of depicting people cleaning. Cleanliness meant order and stability. In this portrait I attempt to portray the notion that no matter who you are or where you come from, we’re all exposed and connected through our shared vulnerabilities. Stripped bare, we’re kinda all the same. Clean shiny surfaces are only a surface, there’s always more going on behind or under them.
